The Evidence Based Rheumatology Podcast

Quick podcast tonight reflecting the Rheumatology Journal Club (@RheumJC) discussion! I joined as they discussed the use of abatacept in patients with rheumatoid arthritis who develop ILD.  It's our first observational trial, so it's ripe for critique! Find the original paper here. 

This week we'll discuss a randomized controlled-ish trial, the RIM study.  It pits rituximab against placebo as well as... rituximab? We'll talk about how their design convincingly demonstrated that ritixan does not have a benefit over placebo for 8 weeks, but may or may not work after that. Find the trial itself here. 

This week we'll discuss a recent trial on mepolizumab - and IL-5 inhibitor - for eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitits.  Find the paper here and be sure to follow us on twitter @JBRheum! 

Today we'll be discussing the ALMS trial, which pitted cellcept against cyclophosphamide.  It's a good trial that has had profound influences on our practice and well worth a read. Access the paper itself here.
